01 / The business question
The expertise that made you valuable in Singapore could meet a need elsewhere. The first task is to see where, for whom and in what form.
ENTERING A NEW MARKET
Understand what local buyers value and which of your strengths give them a reason to consider you.
GROWING AN ESTABLISHED BUSINESS
Explore a new audience, a different offer or a business model that takes your expertise further.
BRINGING THE BRAND UP TO DATE
Bring your positioning, identity and story into line with the business you have become and where you want to go.
02 / How we see it
A clearer brand makes the business easier to choose. Better marketing gives people a reason to pay attention. Both begin with understanding what you can offer.
Our branding approach
We explore how customers, markets and your business could change. That helps us build a brand that serves today’s opportunity and gives you room to grow.
Our marketing approach
Good marketing begins with something worth talking about. We help make your difference clear in what you offer, how people experience it and the stories they share.
Our business approach
A product could open the door to a service. A local service could become a franchise. We examine the value behind your offer and where it could lead next.
03 / What we do
From understanding the market to starting conversations in it. We agree the right scope for your business, with clear decisions, deliverables and responsibilities at every stage.
Discovery, immersion & alignment
We listen to your leadership and customers, audit the brand and examine the competition. Our workshops help the team question assumptions and agree what the next market needs from you.
A clear view of your strengths, the market gap and the problem worth solving.
Brand strategy & definition
We turn the findings into decisions: who to serve, what to offer and where to stand apart. We define how your existing brand should travel and how its products, services or sub-brands fit together.
An agreed brand direction your leadership, sales team and partners can use.
Identity & brand expression
We translate the strategy into a distinctive visual and verbal identity. That may mean building a new system or refining the one you already have. The decision follows the research.
A recognisable brand and practical guidance for applying it consistently.
Roadmap & brand activation
We plan how the brand enters the market, then create the stories and content that start useful conversations. The work is shaped around the people you need to reach and what will earn their attention.
A clear route to market and agreed content and outreach to put it into action.
04 / How we work
Our Creative Intelligence™ framework connects research with possibility, then puts the options through a practical test.
Understand the customer, the market, the competition and the strengths already in your business.
Use our Getting to Wow! workshop to question assumptions and explore opportunities beyond the familiar answer.
Test the options for relevance, credibility, difference and the ability to deliver.
Agree the brand direction, the system that expresses it and the plan that puts it to work.

07 / EDGE grant Singapore
EDGE brings business grant support under one scheme. For overseas growth, two activities are relevant to the branding and activation work described here.
Route 01 / Build the foundation
Research, brand strategy and identity development or refresh for an overseas market. A strategic roadmap can form part of the brand strategy.
Relevant to parts 1–3 and the strategic roadmap in part 4.
Route 02 / Reach the market
Eligible professional services for outreach that builds overseas visibility through social media, media publicity and other market-specific promotional activity.
Relevant to the agreed activation work in part 4.
Activities have separate applications and requirements. The annual cap is shared, not a separate allowance for each route. Approval, supported costs and the final grant amount are determined by Enterprise Singapore and the Letter of Offer.
Check the company. Registered and operating in Singapore, with at least 30% Singapore citizen or PR ownership, based on ultimate individual ownership. Other requirements apply.
Apply before work or payment. No work, payment or deposit to a supplier before application submission. Costs from the application date are supported only upon approval.
Plan the cash outlay. Support is reimbursed after completion, full payment and assessment of the claim. GST and other excluded costs are not supported.
Grant information reviewed 21 October 2026. Check the official EDGE overview, the linked activity pages and your Letter of Offer before proceeding.
08 / The next step
You do not need a finished brief. A clear ambition and an honest conversation are enough to begin.
Share the market, the customers you want to reach and the problem you need to solve.
We recommend the research, strategy, identity and activation work you need, then prepare a clear proposal and quotation.
Your company submits and manages each relevant application through Corppass and the Business Grants Portal. We supply our vendor documents.
09 / Questions answered
Clear answers for Singapore companies planning their next stage of growth.
EDGE is Enterprise Singapore’s grant for companies upgrading capabilities, improving efficiency or expanding overseas. It replaced EDG, MRA and PSG for new applications from 30 September 2026. This page focuses on International Branding and Overseas Marketing & Public Relations.
Yes. The International Branding activity supports brand research and analysis, brand strategy, and development or refresh of brand identity for an overseas market. A project can cover one or more of these areas. Eligible professional service costs are subject to assessment and the approved Letter of Offer.
Yes. Overseas Marketing & Public Relations is a separate EDGE activity. It supports eligible professional services for outreach that builds visibility in an overseas market, including social media and online or offline media publicity. We develop a market-specific activation scope alongside the branding work; content production alone does not establish eligibility.
The two activities described here state support of up to 70% for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs. EDGE has an overall annual grant support cap of S$100,000 shared across eligible activities, refreshed on 1 April. These are maximums, not an entitlement. Enterprise Singapore determines the approved amount and conditions.
The company must be registered and operating in Singapore, with at least 30% direct or indirect ownership by Singapore citizens or permanent residents, based on ultimate individual ownership. It must apply before starting work or paying a vendor. Further requirements and Enterprise Singapore’s assessment apply; use BizSG to check your company’s eligibility.
No. Research may show that your name and core identity should stay. The work can clarify your position, adapt your messaging, organise your brands or refine how the identity works in the target market. We recommend changes only when there is a business reason for them.
Brand architecture defines how your company, products, services and sub-brands relate to one another. When entering a new market, it helps you decide what to keep under the existing name, what needs a local expression and whether a separate brand would make the offer clearer.
Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE FAQs allow multiple applications for different activities at the same time, with one application for each activity. We can scope branding and activation together while identifying the costs and deliverables for each application. Both count towards the company’s overall annual grant cap, and the same cost must not be claimed twice.
Website development, social media management and campaign implementation are excluded from International Branding. Overseas Marketing & Public Relations is a separate route for eligible overseas outreach. Videos, thought leadership, LinkedIn activity and media work need a clear role in an approved, market-specific scope; they should not be assumed to qualify automatically. We identify the intended activity and separate any unsupported work in the proposal.
No. For both activities, work must not have started and no payment or deposit may have been made to a supplier, vendor or third party before application submission. Costs from the application date are supported only if approved. Starting before approval carries the risk that support may not be awarded.
No. Your company submits and manages its own application using Corppass and the Business Grants Portal. Identity Counsel provides its vendor proposal, quotation and relevant credentials. Enterprise Singapore does not permit third-party companies to apply for or manage the grant on an applicant’s behalf.
Yes. Co-founder and Brand Strategy Lead Mohit Gopaldas is a Singapore Certified Management Consultant (SCMC). The International Branding activity requests the vendor’s SS 680 certification with the proposal and quotation. We provide the relevant certification documentation for the application.
Tell us which overseas market you are considering, what your business offers, who you want to reach and what needs to change. You do not need a finished brief. For the application, the official activity pages specify the vendor documents and projected overseas sales and jobs. International Branding also requires an overseas market strategy and expansion plan.
The official pages indicate an application outcome in 10 weeks for International Branding and 6 weeks for Overseas Marketing & Public Relations. Both activities require completion within 12 months of approval. We agree the delivery schedule around the research, decisions and deliverables in your project.
No. EDGE support is reimbursed after the approved activity is completed, expenses are paid in full and the claim is assessed. Follow the Letter of Offer and the activity’s claim and audit requirements. Your company should plan for the full project cash outlay.
Applications and projects submitted under EDG, MRA or PSG before EDGE launched continue under their original schemes. New applications from 30 September 2026 use EDGE. Previous support does not automatically rule out a new EDGE project, but the same project or cost cannot be funded twice.
Yes. We start with the business problem and agree a useful scope. Grant support may help fund eligible work, but it does not determine whether a business needs a clearer brand, a better market proposition or a stronger way to reach customers.
